    Are you looking for your next opportunity? We are currently looking for an ELECTRICAL DESIGNER to join our team in WESTMINSTER, CA. This is a new position that has been opened due to growth at Eichleay, Inc. In this role you will work in a schedule-driven environment where timing is a critical function. As a member of the electrical department you will work in a collaborative, multi-discipline environment and report into the Electrical Department Manager.

    MOVE FORWARD WITH EICHLEAY

    We are seeking an ELECTRICAL DESIGNER who will succeed at providing support to teams of engineers and project delivery professionals. Are you passionate about your work and enjoy collaborating with project teams? Do you enjoy the challenges of projects involving revamps to existing facilities? As an ELECTRICAL DESIGNER at Eichleay you will work with project teams to complete the design of the electrical scope of work for projects. You will support diverse clients and projects. Our projects primarily include revamps to existing facilities in the following industries: refinery, chemical, life-sciences and food/beverage.  In this role you will prepare 3D models, electrical drawing and layouts and bills of materials.

    You will be able to receive input from our engineering team and translate it into a set of engineering and construction drawings using 2D and 3D CAD. Your role will include aligning drawing production with client standards and ensuring that content is adequate for the construction of the electrical scope of the project. While the role will be based in the office, it is critical that you conduct site visits to ensure existing conditions of the facility are well understood. You will also be involved in producing as-built drawings  

    This position may include coordinating the work of other assigned designers and drafters, and reviewing and checking assigned work to meet quality standards. This includes reviewing and checking design models, drawings and design documents for quality, accuracy, neatness, functionality, and satisfactory completion.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Associate degree in an engineering or scientific discipline and 4 or more years of experience; or specialized courses in drafting, design and engineering practices plus two additional years of experience; or equivalent experience.
    • Sound comprehensive knowledge of design and drafting techniques, proper use of layering and xrefs, CAD/graphics standards, and preparation of electrical plan and detail drawings.
    • Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to successful interact with electrical discipline lead engineer, project manager, clients, and other staff.
    • Ability to configure industry standard CAD packages on Windows based computer network.
    • Experience with AutoCAD/graphics, 3D modelling design (CADWorx) and 3D modelling best practices/procedures.
    • Understands the need for coordination between other disciplines when related to available space and maintenance requirements for the equipment.
    • Experience with Microsoft Suite.
    • Knowledge of California Building Code, California Title 24 Building Energy Efficiency Standards.
    • Knowledge of NFPA/NEC Standards and IEEE/IES Standards.
    • Knowledge of API Standards.
    • Knowledge of industrial computer systems and motor control schematics.

    PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

    • Capability with lighting design software.
    • Experience with Autodesk Vault.
