    Are you looking for your next opportunity as a MECHANICAL ENGINEER?  We are seeking a dynamic MECHANICAL ENGINEER who is passionate about supporting HVAC and mechanical projects in a collaborative multi-discipline environment.  This is a full time position which will report to the Mechanical Department Manager and based in Concord, CA.

    Are you a MECHANICAL ENGINEER who loves working with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and designers to perform design engineering for projects? Do you have thorough knowledge of mechanical system design and engineering techniques, as well as CAD and graphics skills?  In this role you will be responsible for planning and conducting independent work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures and criteria. Your experience in both wet and dry side heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) system design for commercial and industrial facilities with a focus on design of life science facilities will be highly valued at Eichleay.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:

    • You will perform HVAC and mechanical system design and analysis calculations using governing codes and standards, engineering formulas, along with your skills and experience.
    • You will assume the lead mechanical engineer’s role on assigned projects.  You may direct and supervise other Engineer/Designer/Drafter activities.
    • You will coordinate work with other disciplines such as architectural, civil/structural, electrical, automation, etc.
    • You will utilize computer-assisted engineering and design software to prepare engineering design documents.
    • You will attend and participate in Client and Eichleay meetings.
    • you will perform field activities including observations, recording of existing field conditions, and verifying measurements within the project area.
    • You will effectively interacts with all levels of employees, clients and vendors.
    • Your strong customer focus with commitment to building enduring relationships will yield customer satisfaction and loyalty.
    • Your ability to deal with change and demonstrate flexibility will be critical to your success.
    • Your ability to consistently achieve goals, deliver quality and accurate work and meets timelines will be critical to this role.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor's of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering and 8 or more years of relevant experience with advanced knowledge in HVAC and mechanical system engineering.
    • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of California.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.  
    • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Suite.
    • Experience with AutoCAD design processes.
    • Experience with HVAC Load Calculation Software (Carrier HAP or equivalent).
    • Thorough knowledge of California Mechanical and Plumbing codes, and California Title 24 Building Energy Efficiency Standards.
    • Thorough design knowledge of air handling systems, hydronics, steam distribution, boilers, cooling towers, and other equipment for critical environments.

    Preferred Job Requirements:

    • Mechanical engineering experience in multiple industries including one or more of the following industries: life sciences, food and beverage, refining, chemical, and/or mining.
