    We are seeking an experienced Civil/Structural Designer who has sound comprehensive knowledge of design and drafting techniques, engineering drawing, CAD/graphics, computer model work, and reading of drawings. The Civil/Structural Designer must be able to prepare drawings and layouts, conduct 3D modeling design procedures, and can primarily work with AutoCAD/graphics/Civil 3D. The Civil/Structural Designer develops designs for complete and complex engineering systems, structures, and plant arrangements in graphic form or in detailed scale models. This position may coordinate the work of other assigned designers and drafters, and is responsible for reviewing and checking assigned work to meet quality standards. Other duties include performing technical calculations, charts and graphs, cost estimates, and bills of materials.

    Duties: 

    • Prepares drawings and layouts, specifications, technical calculations, charts and graphs, cost estimates, and bills of materials.
    • Responsible for developing designs for complete and complex engineering systems, structures and plant arrangements.
    • Plans and executes the presentation of arrangements in graphic form or in detailed scale models.
    • Plans, organizes, and coordinates own work as well as work of assigned designers and drafters.
    • Reviews and checks calculations, design models, drawings and design documents for quality, accuracy, neatness, functionality, and satisfactory completion. 
    • Receives minimal supervision on unusual or difficult problems, and general review of all aspects or work.

    Qualifications: 

    • Associate degree in an engineering or scientific discipline and 4 or more years of experience; or specialized courses in drafting, design and engineering practices plus two additional years of experience; or equivalent.
    • Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Interacts with Clients, vendor representatives, project field personnel, and other staff.
    • Configuration of industry standard CAD packages on Windows based computer network.
    • AutoCAD/graphics/Civil 3D
    • 3D modelling design procedures
    • Plotting
    • CADWorX
    • Microsoft Suite
    • Sound comprehensive knowledge of design and drafting techniques, engineering drawing, CAD/graphics, computer model work, and reading of drawings.
    • Knowledge of California Building Code    
    • Understands the need for coordination between other disciplines when related to available space and maintenance requirements for the equipment.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Revit
    • Laser scan technology and software
    • Knowledge of Client, API, ASME and ANSI standards
