Do you enjoy working in a project based environment? Our Procurement team is seeking a Contracts Administrator to join our company in CONCORD, CA. In this role you will work in a schedule driven environment where timing is a critical function.  As a member of the procurement department you will work in a collaborative multi-discipline environment and report into the Procurement Manager.

    As a Contracts Administrator at Eichleay your primary duties will include oversight of the contract management process, as well as development of specific standards for bidding and submission, contract negotiations and document management. Your ability to collaborate with various departments, including operations, fleet and corporate will be critical to your success.

    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS

    • Oversee organizational contract development and management activities, and enforce organizational principles of integrity and compliance.
    • Ensure that contracts and proposals are properly recorded and tracked following company guidelines or established best practices.
    • Develop standards for contracts, including presentation of budget, payment terms, general language and provisions.
    • Perform appropriate research to support proposal and contract development.
    • Conduct contract strategy meetings to identify issues and client requirements, facilitate pricing discussions, and obtain senior management input on timelines and deliverables.
    • Draft contractual provisions based on strategy discussions, senior management input, and organizational needs and expectations;
    • Ensure accuracy and appropriateness of contract text and attachments;
    • Serve as primary organizational contact during contract negotiations;
    • Engage relevant stakeholders in negotiation decisions involving legal or regulatory requirements, contract standards and cost targets;
    • Develop and execute negotiation strategies that minimize potential losses and benefit the organization’s financial performance;
    • Maintain deadlines on deliverables and communicate on an ongoing basis with business partners and internal clients about contractual issues;
    • Review contractual performance of both parties to ensure compliance with terms and to identify conflicts or changes requiring resolution at contract renewal;

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, technical or legal curricula, or at least eight years with Engineering Procurement and Construction Management "EPCM" experience in contracts administration for multi-discipline projects.
    • Ability to read and understand technical documents (including, but not limited to, specifications and drawings) is required.  
    • Competent with Microsoft Suite as well as Project Management Systems.
    • Proficient with using Ariba for contracts administration.
    • Heavy industrial experience, including refinery, mining, food and beverage, biotech, and/or power. 
    • Proven ability to develop superior customer-supplier relationships to ensure all parts & materials meet our vessel requirements.
    • Demonstrated ability to successfully interact with engineers, designers, clients, vendors and technical resources. 
    • Proven success with the ability negotiate and interpret terms and conditions and to handle vendor conflicts as they occur.
    • Ability develop Request for Proposal (RFP) and negotiating terms and conditions.
    • Experience with conducting contract strategy meetings.
    • Possesses strong oral and written communication skills.
