    JOB OVERVIEW: The Senior Product Owner is a professional role responsible for making decisions regarding priority, business value, and functionality for all the work done by the Agile development team. The position possesses an in-depth knowledge of goals and desired objectives of the product.

     

    Additional responsibilities include:

     

    • Acting as a fully integrated team member to work with the business units to represent the technical requirements that achieve business goals and objectives
    • Creating, maintaining, prioritizing, and sequencing the product backlog based on business value or ROI
    • Creating user stories and acceptance tests from themes and features, granular enough for a single sprint
    • Prioritizing user stories by business value and deciding which user stories are scheduled into sprints
    • Participating in project planning, daily stand-up meetings (scrums), reviews, retrospectives, sprint and release planning, demos, and other Scrum-related meetings
    • Reviews deliverable and demonstrable code after every sprint and has the authority to accept or reject
    • Developing and maintaining standards for testing and progress visibility
    • Assisting with prioritization and resolution of defects / bugs
    • Terminates the sprint if a drastic change-in-direction is required
    • Providing encouragement, recognition, and support to the team.

     

    EMPLOYMENT TYPE & HOURS: This is a full-time, exempt position.   Regular office hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., M-F.

    • In-depth knowledge of testing practices and techniques
    • Understanding of organization’s technical environment
    • Ability to understand technical issues
