    JOB OVERVIEW: Atlas Logistics is seeking an organized, detail-oriented, and versatile candidate to join our Logistics team! The candidate should enjoy working in a fast-paced environment while providing exceptional customer service to our customers. The responsibilities include the following:

     

    • Manage direct Atlas Logistics operations staff including freight brokers, coordinators, and administrative staff. Hire and train new personnel as dictated by budget and business needs. Make sure all personnel are cross trained to handle multiple customers. Conduct annual performance reviews of direct staff.

    • Develop strategic partnerships with carriers and other service providers to enhance Atlas Logistics operating capacity and reciprocal business to benefit Atlas Logistics. Have operations staff utilize appropriate technology, tools, and other interfaces to drive down cost of purchased services and increase overall profitability.

    • Works Atlas agents, external clients/prospects, and carriers for business development, client integration, strategic partnerships, pricing solutions, and problem resolution. 

    • Develop efficient workflow processes and procedures. Have a complete understanding of all IT systems that will be used by Atlas Logistics and be able to contribute and participate in the procurement of new IT platforms. 

    • Work closely with other department leaders to help drive overall cost lower for all services purchased. Make sure sales staff and coordinators are processing business within the determined operating variance of Atlas Logistics target GP margin.

    • Participate in monthly Atlas Logistics staff meetings reporting on KPI’s specific to the operations staff, key initiate updates, service provider usage and GP trends. Report to President & COO projected needs based upon industry and internal trends for personnel, IT upgrades, network capacity enhancements, and process improvements.

    Required Skills

    Experience in freight brokerage; and strong interpersonal skills to communicate and interact effectively with all levels within the organization plus agents, vendors, and customers.

    Required Experience

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

    Bachelor’s degree or 8-10 years equivalent experience with job related duties or equivalent job experience.
