JOB OVERVIEW: Atlas Van Lines is seeking an enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and dedicated Painter to join our Atlas Terminal Company/Shop team! The ideal candidate should have an interest in the mechanical field and some work-related experience. This position will be responsible for preparing and painting equipment in a safe, timely, cost-effective and practical manner.

The essential duties of this position include the following: 

• Painting prepared surfaces using spray gun or appropriate applicator
• Preparing various surfaces and parts of truck, trailer, lift gates, etc. for painting as required by washing, scraping, sanding, sandblasting, or other means as necessary
• Laying out paint scheme per customer specifications
• Masking and protecting the parts that are not being painted
• Determining quantities of type of primers and topcoats and necessary to achieve desired color consistency and drying properties for different surfaces and repainting
• Inspecting all work for quality and accuracy of workmanship to include runs, sags, coverage, color, and gloss
• Providing estimates (time requires) for painting requests
• Cleaning and storing tolls and equipment and cleaning work site

This position is in an indoor environment. The noise level is generally moderate. This position may be exposed to hazards such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, working on scaffolding and high places, or exposure to chemicals in the work setting. This position may also be exposed to atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odors, and dusts.

EMPLOYMENT TYPE & HOURS: This full-time position will consist of 40 hours per week. Hours fall between 7:30 a.m. -4:00 p.m., M-F with occasional overtime.
