    POSITION PROFILE

    Responsible for applying advanced knowledge of accounting principles, concepts, theories, and techniques. Leads specialized finance related activities in support of multiple/large projects/functions or major business units/product lines. Area supported is a major element of the organization’s business/operations. Develops and/or overseas the preparation of highly detailed and complex analyses and research for financial forecasts (including financial plans), projections and reports. Assignments typically provide exposure to the most complex financial concepts, issues, and activities. 

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Collaborates with Management to provide strategic guidance and sound business decision support through proper financial analysis, collaboration, and critical thinking.
    • Conducts activities in accordance with GAAP and established MillerKnoll guidelines.
    • Confers with leadership and internal business partners on unusual issues/situations and in identifying reporting requirements.
    • Develops and independently implements work strategies to achieve desired results.
    • Influences business decisions by effectively forecasting, preparing, and presenting financial forecasts.
    • Leverages extensive internal/external contacts at all levels in the organization.
    • May provide support on special projects, as they arise, such as business acquisitions, divestitures, or new products.
    • Provides professional mentoring to less experienced team members.
    • Summarizes financial performance, identifies key performance indicators, and facilitates action plans to address significant risks and opportunities.
    • Works with cross-functional areas to identify and implement continuous process improvements.
    • Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.

    Required Skills

    • Exhibits ability to work cooperatively both in a team environment and independently.
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively use office automation, communication, software tools currently used in the MIllerKnoll office environment.
    • Experience and proficient with Microsoft Office products (Power-point/Excel/Word)
    • Must have competencies that includes business acumen, organizational skills, and the ability to be accurate and timely in completing work assignments.
    • Advanced analytical skills necessary to analyze problems and generate new ideas/solutions.
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead cross-functional teams and manage projects.
    • Oracle and JD Edwards experience a plus.

    Required Experience

    •  Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. (MBA or CPA a plus)
    • 4+ years of experience in professional accounting, in a manufacturing environment preferred.
