POSITION DETAILS

Stewards Individual Placements (SIP) provides individuals with service and career opportunities to strengthen communities and preserve our natural resources. Participants work with federal agencies, tribal governments, and nonprofits building institutional capacity, developing community relationships, and supporting ecosystem health. SIPP in partnership with the Missouri River Basin Lewis & Clark Center are seeking a VISTA who will assist the center in strengthening their work in  three important categories: 1) Grant-Writing and Fund-Raising, 2) School and Youth Engagement, and 3) Community and Corporate Partnerships.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

• opportunity to build capacity for the interpretive center thought grant-writing and fundraising for nonprofits, engaging schools, communities, and youth organizations
• fostering vital partnerships with existing and new organizations and companies to better serve our community
• educate our young people
• conserve and preserve a part of the Missouri River, and the Lewis and Clark chapter of American History.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Some college
• Minimum 18 years of age

Required Skills Required Experience

1. Highly effective oral and written communication skills.
2. Possesses effective interpersonal relationship skills.
3. Ability to make effective group presentations.
4. Strong knowledge of adult education principles, practices and procedures.
5. Has knowledge of professional nursing principles, practices, concepts, and procedures as applied to the care of the patient population served.
6. Ability to utilize computer software applications to include word processing, spreadsheets and graphic presentations, preferred.
7. Knowledge of a variety of educational options such as academic education, experiential learning, consultation, teaching others, professional reading, adult learning principles, research, and self-directed activities.
8. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
9. Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions.
