    Job Description

    Under the supervision and mentorship of the Business Development Staff, the Business Development Analyst Intern will undertake a variety of activities and projects of varying levels of complexity requiring technical and business knowledge gained through an engineering or technical major of study combined with business or marketing coursework.

    This is an exciting opportunity that will expose the candidate to the breadth of KMC’s high-technology products and capabilities. You will work closely with the Business Development and Engineering staff to conduct research to support KMC’s business pursuits and strategic planning efforts by providing timely and relevant knowledge-based research to enhance business decision-making and enable KMC’s competitive advantage

    Work as a member of the team, directly interacting with internal/external resources in the planning and execution of projects. This is a developmental position, restricted to college Juniors or Seniors whose college major and the role of the department is compatible.

    PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Conduct research on market, technology, competition and leadership trends in our industry and/or adjacent industries.
    • Prepare reports and presentation based on research findings to include recommendations or alternative proposals for action.
    • Participate in projects and programs designed to develop professional skills and expertise while contributing to the needs of the Business Development department.
    • Interact directly with colleagues and other internal or external resources in the planning of assignments and completion of projects.
    • Along with other interns in the Company, participate in a presentation for the Executive Staff designed to summarize the internship experience and deliver at least one project.
    • Perform various duties relating to the day-to-day operations of the department, program or function such as periodic reports.
    • Perform a variety of administrative functions including maintenance of database information by entering and updating content, filing, scheduling, planning and preparation.
    • Develop organizational structure of data and information on past projects, allowing for searchable database on topics and capabilities.
    • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Must be currently enrolled in an Engineering degree program, or related technical discipline. Must be a junior or senior year student.
    • The ideal candidate will be pursuing a minor in business or marketing.
    • Requires excellent research skills, along with strong written and verbal communication skills; the ability to understand and follow complex, detailed instructions; and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
    • Must be flexible and able to handle multiple priorities, and be able to work for short to moderate periods of time without direct supervision.
    • Working knowledge of software applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook are required.
