    Job Description

    The Software Engineer Intern assists researching, planning, developing, analyzing, testing, and troubleshooting a variety of software for electronic systems, including displays, cameras and other sensors, processors, interface units, and other electronic devices and subassemblies. This candidate will assist with providing software input to the extended team in the development, testing, and validation phases of both Heads Down Displays and our future of Heads Up Displays.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Suggests Electronic Software for New Assemblies and End-of-Life Items
    • Understand internal & external customer application requirements
    • Work with software developers or sub-contractors to learn and understand the code base
    • Write high-quality, source code to program complete applications within deadlines
    • Perform unit and integration testing before production launch
    • Troubleshoot identified application issues
    • Identify unknown bugs and offer timely solutions
    • Testing of modified applications and identification of deficiencies with proposed solutions
    • Drafts Test Plans and Reports for Qualification, & Acceptance Testing
    • Assists in Performing Laboratory Testing on Bread Boards & Mock-ups
    • Creates & Maintains Tasks Lists
    • Assists in System Integration, Testing, and Troubleshooting
    • Supports other engineering disciplines and other functional areas
    • Completes other related duties as assigned by supervisor and mentor

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Must be a United States Citizen or Naturalized U.S. Citizen
    • Working towards a 4-year Bachelor of Science degree in Software Engineering, Computer
    • Science or Computer Engineering
    • Familiarity with object-oriented methodologies
    • Familiarity with the Visual Studio IDE and .NET framework
    • Knowledge of programming languages such as Visual Basic and C#
    • Working knowledge of database management concepts and constructs (Microsoft SQL,
    • Transact SQL, and MS Access)
    • High understanding of software design and programming principles and best practices
    • Critical thinker and strong problem-solving skills
    • Must be a highly effective communicator, both verbally and in writing
    • Must be highly self-motivated and able to work in both team and individual environments
    • Microsoft Office including the use of Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, & other desktop tools
    • Highly organized, able to multitask, and prioritize various activities
    • Desire to learn Mil-Standard Specifications – land, sea, and air
    • High desire to remain in or become part of the Defense Industry
    • Preferred (in ascending order):
    • Experience with Ruggedized Displays and Electronics
    • FPGA experience, Verilog Code experience
