About the role:
We are seeking a Medicaid Specialist who will play a vital role in the company by working closely with the clients to plan for and submit an individual’s Medicaid application for long-term care assistance. The position requires a resourceful, self-directed team player capable of handling multiple tasks, including research, meeting with and communicating with clients via email/phone, collecting required application materials and drafting documents. This person will be supported by an Administrative Assistant and will report to the Medicaid Team Manager.
Job description:
The goal of the Medicaid Specialist is to facilitate the successful approval of an individual’s Medicaid application. The Medicaid Specialist will be expected to learn the federal, state and county eligibility guidelines for Medicaid long-term care benefits. The position requires detailed attention to project management as well as providing the best possible experience for the client.
Daily responsibilities include:
Responsible for the Medicaid planning management of a caseload of Applicants
Facilitate the onboarding of new clients by reviewing their Intake Questionnaire, completing financial calculations and conducting the client Intake call
Assess the Applicant’s household and financial situation to identify the best path to eligibility
Oversee all client requests and ensure that the client’s needs and questions are responded to in a timely manner
Work with the client, and other team members, to develop a comprehensive eligibility strategy
Conduct state and county-specific research related to Medicaid application procedures
Collect required Medicaid documents from the client (pdfs, jpegs and other electronic files)
Complete forms, draft documents, and submit required application paperwork
Send and receive faxed documents electronically
Schedule appointments utilizing Google Calendar
Delegate and manage tasks for the Administrative Assistant
Communicate directly with Medicaid agencies and caseworkers
Receive and send “snail mail” using online mail services
Follow company policies to ensure client information is transmitted securely
Attend weekly Medicaid team meetings to stay informed about processes and procedures
May provide other tasks as needed
Qualifications
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent degree is required
Ability to prioritize and manage several milestones and projects efficiently
Experience with understanding financial statements, financial assets, bank statements and work in Microsoft excel strongly preferred
Professional written and verbal skills are essential when communicating with clients
Ability to navigate in an Entrepreneurial environment, able to roll with the punches
Ability to work independently as a remote team member
A resourceful and proactive problem solver
Ability to work well with a team to promote company initiatives
