    Job Description

    IDIADA is looking for a highly motivated electric technician to work with plug-in hybrid and electric vehicles. The candidate will collaborate in a growing team with electric vehicle powertrain and charging technologies, combining knowledge of communication protocols, battery and general electric vehicle safety topics, as well as electrical cabling instrumentation.

    The position will cover also driving requirements, normal driving on public roads to discharge the battery of the electric vehicles, as well as recurrent driving to go testing at specific charging station locations.

    One of the main challenges of this sector is to develop and validate safe and reliable high power charging systems which enable that electric mobility becomes accessible and attractive for all types of electrified vehicles.

    Responsibilities

    • Plan, prepare, and conduct charging tests in workshops and field environments.
    • Perform electrical work, including cabling for AC/DC chargers and high-voltage circuits.
    • Install and maintain instrumentation for high-voltage components of the electric powertrain.
    • Manage the organization and inventory of the workshop to ensure operational efficiency.
    • Safely drive vehicles on public roads for charging test execution, adhering to all safety regulations.
    • Analyze test results and prepare detailed reports for customers.
    • Communicate effectively with customers and suppliers regarding charging equipment and test requirements.
    • Collaborate closely with engineering teams to develop and implement technical solutions during vehicle testing and validation.
    • Provide constructive feedback on test setups and propose improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Strong analytical capacity of electronic and electrical circuits
    • Practical knowledge of automotive high-voltage systems and electrical safety standards.
    • Proficiency in electrical work, including cabling and instrumentation for high-voltage components.
    • Familiarity with electrical safety protocols and best practices for workshop environments.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Comfortable using Excel for data analysis and reporting tasks.
    • Passion for electric vehicles, powertrain technologies, and advancing automotive mobility.
    • Willingness for moderate travel activity
    • Good Communication skills

    Education

    • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) with a focus on technical or vocational training in electrical or automotive fields.
    • Equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience in high-voltage systems or electric vehicle technology will also be considered.
    • Relevant certifications (e.g., ASE, EVITP, or manufacturer-specific EV training) are a plus.
