    Job Description

    AECOM is seeking an Electrical Commissioning Engineer that supports both new construction commissioning and existing building retro-commissioning projects. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in engineering design, construction, and commissioning within healthcare, research, mission critical, government, higher education, and K-12 facilities.

    This role requires daily interaction with design professionals, contractors, clients, and facility operations staff. Approximately 50% onsite presence is required during the installation, startup, and functional testing of building systems, controls, and enclosure elements.

    This person will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

    • Maintain project-specific knowledge of commissioning requirements as defined in the project specifications and commissioning plan.
    • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support the successful completion of projects and related tasks
    • Contributes to project management, document control, scheduling, and other non-electrical disciplines as required.
    • Perform electrical commissioning reviews of construction documents.
    • Reviews equipment submittals and shop drawings for compliance with project requirements.
    • Develop Pre-Functional Construction Checklists.
    • Perform construction and installation observations.
    • Evaluate equipment and building control system installations for compliance with contract documents and industry standards.
    • Monitor installation progress relative to the construction schedule.
    • Collaborate with construction managers, architects/engineers, contractors, vendors, and testing agencies on building enclosure installation and acceptance testing.
    • Provide detailed field observation reports during site visits
    • Conducts functional performance testing of power distribution systems, emergency power, and renewable power systems.
    • Assist in troubleshooting system deficiencies.
    • Assist in training facility operations personnel on building systems.
    • Support development of final commissioning documentation and reports.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:

    • BA/BS in Electrical Engineering plus two years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education including design and commissioning experience.

    Preferred Requirements:

    • Experience working within commercial or industrial construction.
    • Requires domestic and international travel - 20%.
    • National Security Clearance.
