An established industrial automation organization is seeking an Electrical / Controls Engineer to support the design, development, and commissioning of control systems for complex industrial equipment. Key Responsibilities
Design electrical control systems, including schematics, layouts, cable and conduit plans, MCC specifications, and lighting designs
Program, configure, and integrate PLCs (MicroLogix, CompactLogix, ControlLogix) and HMIs (RSView Studio)
Test, commission, and troubleshoot control systems both in-house and at customer sites
Provide technical support for installed systems, remotely and on-site
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, project management, sales, and panel fabrication
Support equipment selection, cost estimating, and procurement activities
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and stay current with emerging automation technologies
Travel domestically and internationally as required
Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent relevant industry experience in lieu of a degree
Experience programming PLCs and developing HMIs; Allen-Bradley platforms preferred
Proficiency in electrical schematic design using AutoCAD, with hands-on wiring experience
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive, self-driven learning mindset
Solid understanding of industrial electrical systems with practical, hands-on troubleshooting experience
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Primarily office-based with regular time spent in manufacturing and customer site environments
Ability to perform hands-on troubleshooting and equipment support
Comfortable working in industrial settings with noise and odors
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Visual acuity and physical mobility are required for inspections and installations, including bending, kneeling, and squatting
