Electrical Design Engineer – Automation and Control Systems
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop electrical schematics for complex test and machine systems, including automation and control systems , electro-mechanical equipment , instrumentation , PLCs , data acquisition systems , and hydraulic/pneumatic controls.
Generate detailed specifications based on testing requirements for new systems and applications in development. This includes conceptual design , detailed product design , and creating verification and validation test plans.
Apply standards such as NEC , UL , IEC , IEEE , NFPA , and OSHA to ensure compliance in product and system design.
Provide technical guidance to the project team throughout the design process , ensuring one-line diagrams , control schematic layouts , and panel layouts adhere to recognized engineering standards.
Promote consistency by standardizing product drawings to align with global product guidelines and design philosophies.
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
Proven experience with AutoCAD Electrical for drafting and designing electrical schematics.
Strong understanding of adjustable speed drive systems , with the ability to select and size system components , ensuring compatibility with power distribution systems , one-line diagrams , and major power components.
Proficient in power system design and analysis , including knowledge of the per unit analysis method , short circuit current analysis , power quality analysis , and arc flash calculations.
Background in controls theory , with hands-on experience in PLC programming —preferably Siemens S7.
Experience with E-Plan design software and familiarity with ERP systems , especially SAP GEO , is a plus.
