    Job Description

    PROCON LLC, the Northeast’s largest design-build commercial construction firm, with in-house architectural design, mechanical, structural engineering & construction management is growing and looking to hire an Electrical Design Engineer.

    The Electrical Design Engineer will interact daily with a fully integrated team of architects, engineers, construction project managers, estimators, and developers. You will be responsible for the design/drafting of electrical systems, installation details, layout and sizing from conceptual design through construction administration and warranty issue troubleshooting. The candidate should be proficient with electrical service requirements, distribution sizing, panel schedules, and circuiting.

    Responsibilities

    • Prepare and revise documentation in various project phases including site plans, floor plans, diagrams, and details in Revit.
    • Coordinate with other disciplines (Structural, Mechanical, Architecture) to ensure compatibility with the design intent.
    • Assist in the review of shop drawings and submittals, responds to requests for information, and prepares site observation reports
    • Support project team in developing design documentation, plans, and reports for project design elements.
    • Assist in the selection of electrical systems and materials.
    • Attend project coordination meetings with project team members.
    • Participate in value engineering and basic cost estimating.
    • Implement sustainable design principles.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • 5+ years of experience of electrical designing for commercial construction.
    • Must be proficient in Revit, including familiarity with Navisworks and Bluebeam.
    • Familiarity in utilizing photometric software a plus.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering Technology
    • Professional Engineering License preferred.
    • Thorough knowledge of electrical systems means and methods, materials, and industry standards.
    • Understanding of all phases of engineering document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications.
    • Ability to check own work for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and schedule.
    • Ability to participate and collaborate in a project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought.
    • The ability to understand and effectively communicate electrical engineering concepts to others.
    • Ability to interpret sketches, drawings, and other similar material.
    • Experience working on design-build commercial buildings preferred.
    • Must be a self-starter with a strong work ethic who can work collaboratively
