    About the Role:

    This is an on-site position based in San Diego, California for an experienced Electrical Designer who wants to lead the technical execution of commercial electrical system designs, mentor junior designers, coordinate multidisciplinary projects, and contribute to the continued growth of a rapidly expanding MEP engineering firm.

    Compensation & Benefits:

    Annual Salary Range: $90,000–$100,000, based on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated technical expertise.

    Who This Role Is For:

    What You'll Do:

    Design power distribution, lighting, emergency power, fire alarm, low-voltage, and other electrical building systems for commercial projects

    Produce complete construction documents utilizing Revit and AutoCAD

    Coordinate electrical system designs with mechanical, plumbing, architectural, structural, and civil disciplines

    Perform electrical load calculations, equipment sizing, panel schedules, lighting layouts, and Title 24 lighting compliance coordination

    Review project drawings for accuracy, constructability, and compliance with company QA/QC standards

    Mentor junior designers and assist with technical development across the electrical team

    Participate in client meetings, project coordination meetings, and internal design reviews

    Support Project Managers and Engineers with project execution while maintaining schedule and quality expectations

    What Success Looks Like (First 90 Days):

    Fully integrated into project teams and company workflows

    Producing high-quality construction documents with minimal supervision

    Successfully coordinating electrical designs across multiple disciplines

    Building strong working relationships with team members while consistently delivering projects on schedule

    Non-Negotiable Requirements:

    7+ years of U.S.-based commercial electrical design experience

    Strong proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Visual Lighting, AGi32, SKM, ETAP, or other industry-standard electrical design software

    Experience preparing construction documents for commercial MEP projects

    Thorough understanding of the California Electrical Code (CEC), California Building Code (CBC), California Energy Code (Title 24), NFPA 70 (NEC), NFPA 72, and applicable industry codes

    Experience performing electrical load calculations, lighting layouts, power distribution design, panel schedules, and multidisciplinary coordination

    Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills

    Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines
