  • Responsibilities

    Our client is seeking an Electrical/Controls Engineer in Golden, CO to support customers in a fast-paced industrial environment, with a current focus in the food and beverage industry. This is a hands-on, in-office role that combines engineering design, field support, project oversight, and collaboration with automation teams. The ideal candidate brings strong electrical design experience, practical field awareness, and a passion for supporting complex industrial systems.

    Key Responsibilities

    Industrial Control & Power Design

    • Design industrial control panels, PLC panel wiring layouts, and motor control schematics.
    • Develop AutoCAD drawings including control schematics, panel layouts, and one-line diagrams.
    • Size power feeders and support broader power distribution design needs.
    • Apply electrical codes and standards including NEC and NFPA 70E.
    • Specify and review materials to ensure proper equipment selection and project execution.

    Field / Site Services

    • Perform onsite investigations of existing infrastructure to support upgrade and expansion projects.
    • Verify field conditions and ensure design feasibility.
    • Support system startup and commissioning activities.

    Project Collaboration & Oversight

    • Collaborate closely with controls and automation engineers to ensure proper system integration.
    • Oversee electrical construction and installation activities to ensure adherence to design specifications, standards, and safety requirements.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE required)
    • Minimum of 3 years of industrial electrical or controls engineering experience
    • Experience within industrial environments; food & beverage exposure is a strong plus
    • Familiarity with SKM or ETAP software preferred
    • Experience with arc flash studies and/or relay coordination is a plus
