A leading specialty electric motor manufacturer is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to design and develop custom electric motors for industrial and specialty applications. In this role, you will focus on electromagnetic design, motor performance optimization, and collaboration with mechanical and manufacturing teams to bring high-performance motors from concept to production.
Position Offers
$100,000–$150,000 salary. If your target pay is higher, we still encourage you to apply—we could request adjustments based on experience and market conditions.

Responsibilities
Design and develop electric motor electrical systems including stator and rotor designs, winding specifications, and magnetic circuits.
Perform electromagnetic analysis using tools such as FEA software to optimize motor performance for torque, efficiency, thermal management, and reliability.
Create detailed electrical specifications, schematics, wiring diagrams, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
Support the development of prototypes and validation testing to ensure performance and durability meet design requirements.
Collaborate closely with mechanical engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical designs into finished products.
Research new technologies, materials, and design approaches to enhance motor capabilities and manufacturing efficiency.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to motor performance during development, production, and field use.
Document design processes, test results, and design changes according to company and industry standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree a plus).
3+ years of experience in electric motor design (AC, DC, synchronous, induction, or specialty motors).
Proficiency with electromagnetic design and analysis tools (such as Maxwell, Motor-CAD, or similar).
Strong knowledge of electrical machine theory, electromagnetics, and thermal effects in motor design.
Experience working with motor controls, drives, and power electronics is a plus.
Hands-on experience with prototype testing, validation, and troubleshooting.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
