    Electrical Engineer – Automation & Packaging Equipment

    We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer to join our automation team. This role is critical in the design, development, and support of electrical systems for automated packaging equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, hands-on experience, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Research, Design & Development

    Design and develop electrical schematics and control systems for new and existing automation equipment.

    Apply standardized electrical requirements (e.g., OSHA, UL 489, CSA) to ensure existing systems are compliant, and generate corresponding engineering work orders.

    Specify and integrate electrical components such as PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and motion control systems.

    Perform electrical load calculations and analyze power consumption.

    Installation, Commissioning & Training

    Support equipment installation, startup, and commissioning at customer sites.

    Conduct system testing and troubleshooting to ensure functionality and compliance.

    Develop training materials and lead training sessions for operators and maintenance teams.

    Project Management

    Plan and manage electrical engineering projects, including scheduling, programming, and coordination with internal teams and external partners.

    Maintain accurate documentation, including wiring schematics, BOMs, and control software files.

    Technical Support & Troubleshooting

    Provide ongoing technical support for manufacturing, field service teams, and end users.

    Troubleshoot and diagnose PLC, HMI, and motion control system issues to ensure optimal machine performance.

    Continuous Improvement

    Recommend and implement improvements to existing systems to enhance reliability, efficiency, and safety.

    Stay current with technological advancements in industrial automation and electrical engineering best practices.

    Required Qualifications & Skills:

    Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

    Proficiency in electrical circuit design and analysis

    Experience with CAD tools for electrical design.

    Advanced programming experience (PLC & HMI).

    Familiarity with NEMA standards and industrial wiring practices.

    Knowledge of UL489 & CSA electrical requirements is a plus.
