    Electrical Engineer
    Minneapolis, MN | $90,000-$120,000 | Direct-Hire | Onsite

    Our client is seeking a motivated Electrical Engineer to join a technical team focused on designing and advancing sophisticated electro-mechanical systems. This role centers on developing, testing, and refining electrical hardware for high-precision equipment, including motion systems, laser controls, and integrated automation components. The right candidate brings strong engineering fundamentals, hands-on problem-solving, and a desire to contribute to innovative product development.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Identify, evaluate, and select electrical components that deliver reliable performance, cost efficiency, and seamless integration into system designs.
    • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary engineering group to build next-generation features and improve existing product lines.
    • Translate customer requirements into practical engineering solutions through detailed design, testing, and supporting documentation.
    • Develop validation procedures and qualification testing to ensure system integrity, safety, and compliance.
    • Generate and maintain engineering documentation—including BOMs, schematics, and technical files—within the company’s ERP system and AutoCAD Electrical environment.
    • Partner with suppliers to create engineering specifications and ensure components meet performance and certification criteria.
    • Provide hands-on engineering support to manufacturing, assembly, and field service teams.
    • Produce work instructions, standard operating procedures, and technical guidance for internal teams.
    • Deliver small-group training sessions for employees or customers on specialized technical topics.
    • Advise customers on installation, operation, and best-use practices for equipment.
    • Assist with regulatory compliance activities related to electrical systems and components.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
    • 3+ years working in an engineering role supporting capital equipment or complex electro-mechanical systems preferred.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey technical details clearly.
    • A natural inclination toward learning, problem solving, and staying current with evolving technologies.
    • Must meet U.S. citizenship requirements for ITAR/export control compliance.
    • Experience with PLC hardware and software is highly beneficial.
    • Background in multi-axis machine tool systems is a plus.
