Job Description

The Electrical Engineering Manager is responsible for the technical leadership, project execution and development of engineering personnel within the Electrical Engineering group. This position must maintain a strong focus on ensuring the design, development and integration of electrical and embedded control systems meet the needs of the business. This position also must develop and maintain strong cross functional relationships that help facilitate the necessary collaboration and execution of company objectives.

The ideal candidate for an Electrical Engineering Manager would be able to do the following:

1. Lead and develop a team of electrical engineers responsible for the design & development of electrical hardware.
2. Drive the strategic roadmap for the electrical engineering function with a continuous improvement focus.
3. Develop project roadmaps and resource plans to ensure successful execution of projects, delivering on project requirements for performance, cost, quality and timing.
4. Maintain a disciplined and diligent approach to product development, ensuring best practices are at the forefront of every design.
5. Develop and implement engineering test standards and design guidelines.
6. Provide guidance and support for the design of electrical power systems and embedded controls for complete product line.
7. Develop cross functional relationships that help facilitate the execution of company objectives.
8. Communicate project status to both technical and non-technical audiences.
9. Write electrical and software specifications for embedded controls hardware supplied by outside vendors.
10. Assist in trouble shooting and implementing corrective actions for production and field problems.

Qualifications

For a candidate to be successful as an Electrical Engineering Manager they must have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic engineering, or computer science.
• 7 years minimum experience in electrical power, control systems, ideally within the food service industry. Experience managing electrical teams preferred.
• Strong team development and leadership skills.
• Background in embedded control design.
• Experience in C programming.
• Familiarity with EMI/EMC/ESD mitigation methods.
• Experience in integrating electrical and mechanical systems.
• Familiarity with software development and testing processes
• Fluent in Microsoft products such as Excel, Word, Office, and PowerPoint.
