    About the Opportunity

We are a fast-moving product development organization preparing for a major hardware launch within the next 10–15 months. Our team is lean, highly capable, and execution-focused. We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a multidisciplinary engineering team responsible for developing a complex hardware product that includes embedded systems and display technology.

This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who thrives in an agile, growth-oriented environment and enjoys guiding strong technical contributors toward successful product delivery.

    • Mechanical Design

The team currently consists of approximately seven engineers and may expand following product launch.

This role is primarily leadership-focused. You will not be expected to design schematics or directly execute engineering tasks, but you must possess strong technical fluency to:

    • Evaluate hardware architecture decisions

    • Discuss microcontroller and embedded system selections

    • Guide design trade-offs

    • Ensure requirements are clearly defined and met

    • Maintain accountability for delivery timelines

You will oversee performance management, team engagement, and overall execution.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead hardware development from requirements through launch

    • Own requirements management and cross-functional alignment

    • Oversee design reviews and evaluate key technical decisions

    • Ensure project milestones are achieved on schedule

    • Conduct performance reviews and manage team development

    • Foster high engagement, morale, and retention

    • Collaborate across electrical, firmware, and mechanical disciplines

    • Interface with stakeholders and internal leadership

    Required Qualifications

    • 10+ years of hardware development experience

    • 5+ years of engineering leadership experience

    • Experience delivering physical hardware products to market

    • Strong knowledge of embedded systems and microcontrollers

    • Ability to assess engineering decisions without directly executing the work

    • Comfort working in environments with less formal process and more ownership

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent hands-on experience

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience leading cross-disciplinary engineering teams

    • Exposure to display systems or embedded controllers

    • Strong business acumen and understanding of product delivery timelines

    • Experience in smaller or mid-sized organizations where wearing multiple hats is required

    What We’re Looking For

    • A technically credible leader who has delivered real hardware

    • Someone comfortable guiding engineers across multiple disciplines

    • A pragmatic decision-maker who balances speed with sound engineering

    • A leader who can drive accountability while maintaining team morale

    • An individual who thrives in fast-paced, execution-focused environments

    • Hybrid schedule (2–3 days onsite preferred)

    • High-visibility leadership role

    • Direct impact on an upcoming product launch
