Butterfly Staffing is hiring on behalf of a leading electrical construction firm in the Clearwater area that is actively expanding its portfolio of electrical infrastructure and EV charger installation projects. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Electrical Estimator to support a variety of industrial and commercial bids, including high-amperage service upgrades and turn-key EVSE (Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment) installations. This is a key role responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates that support strategic project wins and operational success.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and related documents to determine project scope.
- Perform detailed quantity take-offs and enter data into estimating spreadsheets and software (e.g., Accubid).
- Develop labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor cost breakdowns for projects such as:
- DC fast chargers (3–4 units/site)
- Level 2 chargers (7–10 units/site)
- 50-amp receptacles in vehicle service areas
- Electrical service upgrades ranging from 2000–4000 amps
- Obtain and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes to ensure bid accuracy and competitiveness.
- Collaborate with the bid team, project managers, and utility providers to confirm service requirements and identify scope gaps.
- Ensure compliance with NEC code, utility coordination requirements, and customer specifications.
- Maintain pricing databases, track historical bids, and contribute to continuous process improvement.
- Support preconstruction meetings and internal estimating team collaboration.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical estimating for commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, including load calculations, panel upgrades, and conduit layouts.
- Prior experience with EVSE projects, site lighting, switchgear, or utility service upgrades is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with estimating tools such as Accubid, ConEst, or similar software.
- Solid ability to read and interpret blueprints, one-line diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Skilled in Microsoft Excel and Word; strong communication and organizational skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical or trade training a plus.
