Position summary: Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is currently seeking full-time

Journeyman Electrician or Masterto perform maintenance operations in the Houston, TX area. This position requires performing a variety of tasks related to electrical installation, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and other electrical services on roadway/facilities electrical systems; and adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies and procedures. Must provide small hand tools and basic instruments. Powered equipment and large tools are provided. Position is full time and requires working on a rotating on-call schedule.

Required Experience:

• Minimum 5 to 8 years of related experience
• Knowledge of 480V and below 3-phase and single phase electrical power.
• Customer service
• Knowledge of electrical circuits and wiring and operating principles of motors.
• Knowledge of local electrical codes.
• Knowledge of computers and I-Pads.
• Ability to use and operate electrical meters, meggers, amprobes and VOM's
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and written reference material.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations.
• Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve problems.
• Ability to use hand and power tools.
• Ability to receive and complete electronic work orders on the I-Pad.
• Ability to comprehend complex systems and technical information and explain effectively to a wide variety of stake holders.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of privileged and sensitive information.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines.
• Ability to perform duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with minimum supervision.
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships and work in a team environment.

Preferred Experience:

• Roadway maintenance experience
• MOT Certifications
• Highway maintenance experience

Clean driving record is essential
Must pass criminal background check

Qualifications:

• Texas Electrical Journeyman's or Master's license
• High School Diploma/GED
• Maintain company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing)
• Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
• Carry out simple arithmetic functions
• Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
• Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
• Ability to use smart phone and applications
• Ability to adjust to changing work schedule
• Ability to work safely under ranging environmental and weather conditions
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds; strenuous manual labor may be required
• Ability to operate hand/power tools

Schedule:

Full time; must be abe to work on a rotating on-call schedule
