    Job Overview Admiral Cable is seeking a highly skilled and versatile Electrical-Mechanical Technician to join our dynamic maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with a strong foundation in both mechanical and electrical systems. This role is critical to ensuring the continuous operation of our state-of-the-art wire and cable manufacturing equipment. The successful candidate will demonstrate a positive attitude, excellent attendance, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced industrial environment.

    Duties

    Preventive & Corrective Maintenance: Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on a wide range of industrial manufacturing equipment.

    Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose and efficiently repair complex issues involving mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems to minimize downtime.

    System Expertise: Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair systems including Extruders, rod mills, multi-wire machines, bunchers, compounders, material conveying systems, compressors, cooling towers, HVAC, chillers, and thermulators.

    Technical Diagrams: Read, interpret, and work from pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical schematics and drawings.

    Collaboration: Work hand-in-hand with other maintenance technicians, providing cross-functional support to solve integrated electro-mechanical problems.

    Installation & Fabrication: Perform mechanical installations, overhead installations, and building repairs. Utilize welding skills for fabrication and repair tasks.

    Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, including working at heights using ladders, boom lifts, and platforms, and working safely with voltages up to 480V.

    Skills

    Technical Skills - Mechanical:

    Strong knowledge and troubleshooting skills in pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

    Proficiency in welding and metal fabrication.

    Experience with compressors, cooling towers, HVAC, chillers, and material conveying systems.

    Ability to perform building repairs and overhead installations.

    Comfortable working at heights (ladders, boom lifts, platforms).

    Technical Skills - Electrical:

    Solid knowledge of electrical controls, AC/DC drives, and stepper motors.

    Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical circuits with voltages ranging from 24V to 480V.

    Experience with PLC and HMI systems (programming and troubleshooting a strong plus).

    Ability to understand and interpret electrical drawings.

    Knowledge of electrical installations.

    Preferred Qualifications (A Plus):

    Previous experience in the wire and cable manufacturing industry.

    Direct experience with extruders, rod mills, bunchers, and compounders.

    Formal technical training or certification in an electro-mechanical field.

    Shift Flexibility:

    Must be willing to work any available shift (1st, 2nd, or 3rd), including 10 or 12-hour shifts, both day and night.

    Physical & Work Requirements

    Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

    Comfortable working in a factory environment with exposure to noise and moving machinery.

    Willingness to work shifts, including evenings or weekends as needed.
