Electrical Trades Manager - Construction - Base Salary to 115k/year - Birmingham, AL
Our client is the largest healthcare modular builder in the nation. They are revolutionizing the design, manufacturing, and construction of healthcare buildings with the aim of doubling quality, delivering projects twice as fast, and enhancing their value. Serving major healthcare providers across the US, their innovative products include free-standing emergency departments, inpatient rehabilitation facilities, primary care clinics, and ambulatory surgery centers. They are currently looking for an Electrical Trades Manager to join their team, and travel throughout the southeast US.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for estimating electrical self-perform scope of work
Responsible for bidding, leveling, and awarding of tiered subcontract scopes such as low voltage fire alarm, nurse call, data, access and security, communications, site utility.
Perform quantity takeoffs for all materials that need to be procured
Solicit and award PO’s associated with self-perform crews, including releasing of materials upon award to ensure schedule impacts are avoided
Responsible for managing design coordination with both internal and external design and engineering teams
Work closely with design and manufacturing teams to eliminate inefficiencies and drive better outcomes
Perform constructability reviews and ensure all comments from reviews are captured and incorporated into the project
Perform preconstruction services for all electrical self-perform projects
Responsible managing the planning, coordination, and execution of any shutdowns to existing facilities
Quantify all crew headcount requirements for each project
Responsible for managing project assignments for crew members
Responsible for manpower forecasts for backlog projects and managing manpower ebbs and flows
Provide feedback on sequence and duration for electrical activities that will be incorporated into master schedule
Manage all submittals and RFI during project planning phase including those from electrical trade partners
Ensure field crews are performing their work safely. The electrical leader needs to lead by example and work closely with the project teams on building a safety culture
Accountable for making sure field crews are following SOP’s and providing feedback on where procedures can be improved
Teach and train our workforce, while identifying top performers that have potential for promotion to foremen, general foremen and beyond
Responsible for managing the overall profitability of the trade, including project financial performance and forecasts, per diem and subsistence
Must know local codes and standards and communicate to job team in advance for successful implementation
Qualifications:
10+ years of Construction experience required
Background managing direct, internal labor is required
Estimating support and management experience required
Proficient Word, Excel, PowerPoint capabilities
Ability to oversee and coordinate a variety of people in different roles
Ability to read, understand, and execute blueprints, drawings, and plans
Thorough understanding of legal requirements relating to construction and building sites
Thorough understanding of contracts, plans, specifications, and regulation
