Position Summary
We’re seeking a seasoned Electrician / Field Technician with at least 5 years of hands-on experience to work on large-scale electrical and low-voltage projects. This role requires frequent travel (≈ 50 %) outside of California, so you must be ready for extended field assignments, lodging on-site, and flexible schedules.
You will lead installations, troubleshooting, and system integration in environments including federal, security, data, industrial, and commercial sites.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and perform installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, low-voltage systems (access control, CCTV, alarms), lighting, power, and control circuits
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, Wiring diagrams, and site drawings
Pull wire, run conduit, terminations, cable tray work, labeling and documentation
Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical and low-voltage faults; use multimeters, megohmmeters, clamp meters, etc.
Ensure compliance with NEC, OSHA, site safety protocols, and company quality standards
Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and stakeholders to meet timelines
Mentor and guide junior technicians when needed
Travel to job sites, stay away from home on assignments, manage field logistics
Required Qualifications & Skills
Minimum 5 years of electrical/low-voltage field experience in commercial, industrial, or security sectors
Strong knowledge of NEC, electrical codes, and construction practices
Experience with low-voltage systems (CCTV, access control, fire alarm, structured cabling)
Must be willing to work away from home for extended periods
Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to pass background checks
Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, working at heights, climbing ladders, and working long hours
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication
California electrician’s license preferred
Flexibility in schedule (weekdays/weekends)
