    MINISTRY POSITION Title: Electrician

    Departments: Facilities

    Classification: Hourly, Non-Exempt

    Reports To: Manager, Facilities

    POSITION SUMMARY The Electrician will be responsible for the installation, maintaining and repairing electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures. Ensure that work is in accordance with the National Electrical Code and other relevant codes.

    MINISTERIAL FUNCTION As a member of the First Baptist Atlanta (FBA) staff, this position is a ministry role. While performing Electrician job duties, the employee is expected to support and advance the mission of the Church. Ministerial functions of this role include:

    Representing Christ and FBA through daily interactions with members, guests, and visitors

    Creating a welcoming, Christ-centered environment that reflects Red Carpet hospitality

    Demonstrating biblical character, integrity, and a servant’s heart

    Supporting the Church’s mission of making disciples by fostering connection and community

    Aligning personal conduct with the beliefs and values of FBA

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Candidate must have a growing & mature, demonstrated personal relationship with Jesus Christ and exhibit a consistent Christ-like attitude and life.

    Must align with the beliefs, values and mission of First Baptist Atlanta

    Must be a current member of First Baptist Atlanta or enrolled in First Class with the intention of becoming a member within the first three months of employment

    High School Diploma required and Journeyman experience with electrical vocational training

    Commercial Electrical License required

    Minimum four years’ recent commercial or industrial experience required

    Must support and model the culture, values and service expectations of First Baptist Atlanta, including the Red Carpet Standard (H.E.A.R.T.) and the principles of the 3M Strategy

    Exhibits a positive and involved team attitude to all and promotes positive relations through an environment that encourages transparency, open communications, trust, and mutual respect

    Above average ability to be flexible, organized, manage time and set/shift priorities while meeting deadlines

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

    Ability to work on ladders, scaffolds, manlifts, etc. and ability to lift 75 lbs.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or control wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.

    Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.

    Disconnect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.

    Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with the National Electrical Code.

    Advise the Facilities Manager on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.

    Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as AC/DC Multimeters, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.

    Follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.

    Document electrical circuits encountered in maintenance and repairs to continually update electrical drawings.

    Use a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, and power tools.

    Repair or replace wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.

    Work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.

    Install conduit, boxes, fittings, wire, and metal clad cable inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, for power to new lighting, receptacles and electrical devices and equipment.

    Ability to work safely using lockout and tagout procedures.
