    Position Summary

    The Electrician III is a senior-level electrical professional responsible for performing and supervising complex electrical installations, troubleshooting, and repairs across high-voltage and low-voltage systems. This position focuses on maintaining operational reliability and compliance within commercial and healthcare facility environments. The role includes direct supervision of junior electricians, ensuring adherence to safety standards, electrical codes, and project specifications.

    The Electrician III will oversee system diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and emergency repair activities for power distribution, backup generation, and control systems. They will also ensure all work complies with Federal, State, and Local regulations and meets industry best practices for safety and efficiency.

    Essential Duties

    · Independently troubleshoot complex controls and power electrical systems.

    · Supervise the removal and replacement of motors, starters, relays, limit switches, fuses, and control components.

    · Oversee the maintenance and repair of high-voltage systems (over 480v).

    · Diagnose and repair electronic systems using ladder logic, schematics, and technical diagrams.

    · Install, wire, and upgrade electrical systems, ensuring code compliance and operational integrity.

    · Inspect, adjust, and repair faulty parts, wiring, and control devices on diverse electrical and electronic equipment.

    · Perform maintenance, testing, and repair of power generation systems, switchgear, UPS systems, and transformers.

    · Maintain and service emergency generators and photovoltaic systems.

    · Support high-level mechanical and electrical repairs, including automatic transfer switches and battery storage systems.

    · Interpret and apply Federal, State, and Local electrical codes and regulations.

    · Manage and train Electrician I and II level personnel; lead daily operations and ensure work quality standards.

    · Communicate effectively with facility leadership, clients, and trades regarding ongoing work, challenges, and progress.

    · Perform documentation, reporting, and system logging per operational procedures.

    · Work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays as operationally required.

    Required Qualifications

    · Valid Journeyman Electrician License in Maryland (or transferable equivalent).

    · Minimum 5 years of experience as a Journeyman Electrician and/or a combination of education and experience.

    · Minimum 5 years of high-voltage (480v+) experience in maintenance and installation.

    · Proficiency in maintenance, repair, and testing of power generation systems, switchgear, transformers, and diesel generators.

    · Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.

    · Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to interact with diverse stakeholders (clients, trades, staff).

    · Basic computer proficiency (email, internet, electronic manuals, etc.) with ability to learn new programs quickly.

    · Demonstrated ability to follow and enforce safety regulations, electrical codes, and operational standards.

    · Experience leading or supervising electrical technicians or apprentices.

    Preferred Qualifications

    · Experience in a commercial, campus, or central utility plant environment.

    · Three (3+) years of supervisory experience with proven conflict resolution skills.

    · Prior experience working in a healthcare or hospital facility.

    · Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or similar tracking tools.

    Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly to move objects.

    Ability to read blueprints, perform precise field measurements, and operate electrical diagnostic tools safely.
