(2) Location & Work Type
Location: Orange County, CA (Mission Viejo / Rancho Santa Margarita / Lake Forest / Trabuco Canyon)
Work type: Field-based — daily travel to residential job sites throughout Orange County
Company van provided — take-home permitted; you start your day from home
(3) Job Type
Full-time, in-field
Typical hours: Monday–Friday (occasional schedule flexibility may be required based on customer or operational needs)
(4) Role Overview
As a Service Professional at Mr. Electric of Mission Viejo, you are the trusted electrical expert that homeowners in Orange County rely on. You will diagnose electrical issues, perform a wide range of residential electrical work, and deliver a service experience that earns five-star reviews.
You represent Mr. Electric on every job — and that means showing up professionally, communicating clearly with homeowners, and doing the job right the first time.
If you are a skilled electrician who takes pride in craftsmanship, genuinely cares about customers, and wants to grow with a company that has a proven system and real opportunities — this is your opportunity.
(5) Key Responsibilities
(5.1) Electrical Service & Installation
Perform residential electrical service calls, troubleshooting, repairs, and installations
Handle a wide range of job types: panel upgrades, outlet and switch work, fixture installations, circuit additions, GFCI/AFCI installation, EV charger installations, ceiling fans, and more
Diagnose complex electrical issues accurately and propose clear, honest solutions to homeowners
Ensure all work meets NEC standards and applicable local code requirements
(5.2) Customer Experience
Communicate clearly and professionally with homeowners — explain the problem, present your solution, and set realistic expectations before starting work
Represent Mr. Electric with professionalism on every job site: clean appearance, respectful conduct, floor mats and property protection always used
Build homeowner trust through honest assessments, quality workmanship, and a positive attitude
Handle any warranty or call-back situations promptly and professionally
(5.3) Job Documentation & Compliance
Complete all job documentation accurately in ServiceTitan (work orders, job notes, photos, invoices) using your company-provided iPad
Obtain customer signature on work authorization before starting every job — no exceptions
Identify and communicate to the office when permits are required for a job
Return all paperwork, payments, and collected materials accurately and on time
(5.4) Vehicle & Equipment Responsibility
Maintain your company-provided service van in clean, organized, and road-ready condition at all times — inside and out
Perform a daily pre-trip inspection: fuel, tire pressure, lights, and cargo security
Report any mechanical issues, damage, or accidents to the office immediately
Maintain and accurately account for all tools, equipment, and inventory assigned to your van
(5.5) Team & Standards
Follow all Mr. Electric service standards, company policies, and safety protocols on every call
Attend team huddles and training sessions as scheduled
Support a professional, accountable team culture
(6) Tools & Systems Provided
Branded company service van (take-home to your residence permitted)
Mr. Electric uniform
iPad with ServiceTitan and field management software (paid training provided)
Company-supplied tools and equipment inventory
(7) Qualifications
(7.1) Required
3–5 years of residential electrical service experience — service and repair work (not exclusively new construction)
Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record
Ability to safely operate a full-size service van — required for this role
Comfortable working independently and managing your own daily schedule in the field
Tech-comfortable: able to use an iPad and field software for job documentation
Strong communication skills — able to explain electrical issues clearly and professionally to homeowners
Ability to pass a background check and motor vehicle record (MVR) check
(7.2) Preferred (Nice-to-Have)
California General Electrician Certification or equivalent journeyman credential
Experience with panel upgrades, EV charger installations, or smart home systems
Light commercial electrical experience
Experience using ServiceTitan or similar field service management software
Bilingual (English / Spanish)
(8) Traits That Succeed in This Role
Professional by nature — You take pride in your appearance, your work, and how you represent the brand on every job
Customer-first mindset — You treat every homeowner's home with respect and every interaction as an opportunity to earn trust

Problem-solver — You diagnose accurately, fix it right the first time, and don't leave until the job is done properly
Coachable — You welcome feedback and are always looking to sharpen your skills

(9) Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Success in this role is measured through:

(10) Growth Path
Mr. Electric of Mission Viejo is a growing franchise. As we expand our team and our customer base, high-performing Service Professionals will have opportunities to move into lead technician, field supervisor, or training roles. If you perform, you earn real responsibility.
(11) A Typical Day in This Role
Start your day from home in your company service van — stocked, clean, and ready

In addition to base pay, this role includes performance incentives tied to job performance and customer satisfaction metrics. Top Service Professionals consistently earn $35–$40+ per hour in total compensation when performance incentives are included.
Paid training is provided from day one.
