Independent Lighting & Electrical, locally owned and operated in Virginia Beach, VA with over 30 years of history, is looking for full-fledged electricians to join our growing team.

Electrician Responsibilities and Duties:

Installation, retrofit, and troubleshooting of commercial indoor and outdoor lighting systems, and commercial ground up electrical buildouts

Execute plans of electrical wiring for lighting and other electrical systems

Install distribution components (e.g. switches, resistors, circuit-breakers, panels etc.)

Install and support conduits, pull wire, terminate equipment and devices

Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and the cause, replace damaged parts

Lead a crew when necessary

Electrician Qualifications and Skills:

Experience in commercial electrical systems and lighting

Demonstrate ability to use electrical meters and hand tools (e.g. wire strippers, voltmeter etc.) and read electrical drawings and blueprints

Thorough knowledge of lock out tag out safety procedures, regulations, and NEC codes

Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability - troubleshooting

Excellent physical condition and flexibility to work full shifts

Valid driver’s license with a good record

Ability to work on ladders, aerial lifts, bucket trucks, and lift 50 lbs.

Journeyman or Master license preferred
