Job Description
The Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems, machinery and equipment in a manufacturing facility. Their role ensures optimal performance of electrical systems in an efficient and safe manner while preventing or minimizing downtime in production processes.
- Install and wire new electrical systems at or below 480V for manufacturing equipment and machinery as described in machine specs.
- Perform regular maintenance checks and inspections on electrical systems to ensure they are functioning properly.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose faults or issues in electrical circuits, control systems, motors, etc. and provide necessary repairs to minimize downtime.
- Repair or replace faulty components such as wiring, circuit breakers, switches, and motors.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations regarding electrical installations and repairs; report any significant electrical failures, safety hazards or compliance issues to management.
- Collaborate and provide support for with maintenance teams, engineers, and production to coordinate electrical work on machines or systems.
- Ensure that all electrical work complies with local and national electrical codes, safety standards, and company policies.
- Perform lock-out/tag-out procedures and other safety protocols when working on electrical equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of electrical repairs, maintenance, and inspections.
- Complete maintenance logs and create reports to track electrical work performed.
