In this vital role, you'll be responsible for performing preventive maintenance and repairs on government-owned family housing units and their components. These homes are located at two prestigious military installations: Joint Base Myer–Henderson Hall (JBM-HH) in Arlington, VA, and Fort McNair in Washington, D.C.

Job Duties
The Contractor shall inspect, repair, and perform maintenance checks of all electrical equipment including distribution panel, connections, grounds, outlets switches, wiring and lighting fixtures to ensure they are safe and usable and repair/replace to National Electrical Code (NEC) and local code. The Contractor shall ensure receptacles and breakers with ground fault sensors will be capable of properly detecting faults. The Contractor shall replace all inoperative light bulbs. The Contractor shall label
electrical panel circuit breakers correctly and clearly. The Contractor shall move and reinstall outlet covers prior to painting the quarters during BOM. **

Requirements
The Journeyman Electrician must have a minimum of five (5) years' experience maintaining and repairing building electrical systems. The Journeyman Electrician must have the following minimum qualifications: The Journeyman Electrician must have a valid License issued by the MD, VA, or DC Board of Electrical Contractors. An electrical license from another state may be acceptable if it qualifies under Virginia's reciprocity process. Must be able to plan, layout and complete installation, modification and repair of various electrical systems, circuits, equipment, and controls. Must be skilled in the use of electrical testing equipment such as voltmeter, ammeter, wattmeter, and ohmmeter.
