    How will you make an impact?

    You will develop mechanical and electro-mechanical system design solutions for the Life Science Industry related projects that meet or exceed performance and cost targets, on compressed time schedule. Also, you will document & support the mechanical components and systems from concept through production. This position includes the design interpretation of specification, goals, documentation & testing to verify such designs and improvements. You should be technically competent, using independent judgment & capable of handling projects under general supervision.

    What will you do?

    • Work alongside other product development team members and with other cross-functional groups to identify/implement projects for design optimization of the company’s laboratory products, including water systems, biological safety cabinets, shakers, incubators, and freezers.
    • Complete product design and development for new, custom and existing products in technical compliance, on time, on or ahead of budget.
    • Establishes & maintains manufacturing specifications, i.e. Bill of Materials and other related technical input and documentation. Working knowledge of Bill of Material creation, PLM, and ERP use.
    • Work with cross-functional teams to implement new, custom and existing products to production with applicable documentation to insure manufacturability.
    • Present status reports demonstrating progress toward pre-determined timelines, produce and work with Gantt charts and spreadsheets.
    • Provide timely communication on significant issues or developments.
    • Able to work independently under General supervision.
    • Assist with preparing bids and respond to customer proposals for custom product design group.
    • Perform work in office environment with frequent exposure to manufacturing plant activity while using Personal Protective Equipment as required.
    • Perform all job duties in a safe manner and obey all safety policies and procedures.
    • Perform all job duties consistent with the Code of Ethics and the 4-I Values.
    • Perform all job duties within ISO standards, regulatory or statutory requirements.
    • Perform other duties and cross training as assigned

  • Qualifications

    How will you get here?

    Education

    Bachelor's degree in Mechanical engineering or Electro-Mechanical engineering or Electrical engineering.

    Experience

    • Minimum 2 years engineering Electro-Mechanical design experience.
    • Good understanding of the design, selection and sizing of electro-mechanical components including motors, compressors, PCBA and sensors.
    • Demonstration of an electrical and mechanical aptitude sufficient to construct working models of prototypes, including PCB, wiring, sheet metal and mechanisms.
    • Good design and analysis skills including CAD design, FEA analysis, GD&T, tolerance analysis, etc
    • Knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing techniques & machinery, along with the processes for assembling components into mechanical systems is needed.
