  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    As an Electro/Mechanical Test Engineering Intern, you will assist and work with a global team of cross functional product development engineers developing and testing residential electronic locking products and associated mobile and Web based applications in a fast-paced environment. You will need to be creative and innovative while reviewing and understanding product and system architectures and conducting system integration testing with electrical, firmware, software, and mechanical design components. Being responsible for coordinating and executing technical tasks will give you the opportunity to see a project through from start to finish.

    Job Duties include:

    o Work in a product development team environment designing and testing access control components and systems

    o Execute test plans and test cases against interconnected hardware and software platforms.

    o Perform Data acquisition using variety of electromechanical sensor technologies

    o Ability to debug the issues to identify the source of failure, read and analyze UART logs and/or software logs.

    o Communicate project status through reports, presentations, and program reviews

    o Create and construct electrical and mechanical prototypes and test fixtures.

    o Participate in testing of Home Automation Network protocols.

    **Required Skills & Abilities **

    o Technical and Creative thinker with high initiative and desire for technical challenge

    o Working knowledge of micro-controller-based systems and embedded firmware design, development, and testing.

    o Ability to analyze test data, develop specifications, and generate schematics

    o Utilization of test equipment: oscilloscopes, function generator, DVM, logic and protocol analyzers

    o RFID, WiFi, BLE, Zwave and/or Zigbee Network knowledge and experience preferred o Working knowledge of electronics manufacturing a Plus+

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Education:

    o Currently enrolled as a BS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics/Mechatronics Engineering, or related field

    o BS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field

    Experience:

    Experience of electro-mechanical testing preferred.

    Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $33,300 USD - $45,760 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
