Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in relevant fields, cardiovascular technology or related healthcare discipline.
- Electrophysiology Studies
Experience
- One year of Electrophysiology Technologist required.
Licenses/Certifications
- Current licensure as a Certified Electrophysiology Technologist in the state of Georgia
- AHA BLS & ACLS certification required.
- CCI RCES certification preferred.
- CCI RCIS certification preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in Procedures: Work closely with cardiologists during invasive procedures such as electrophysiology studies, catheter ablations, and the implantation of cardiac devices (e.g., pacemakers and defibrillators).
- Patient Monitoring: Prepare and monitor patients during procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort while documenting vital signs and heart rhythms.
- Equipment Management: Operate and maintain electrophysiology lab equipment, ensuring it is properly calibrated and functioning.
- Data Collection: Assist in collecting and analyzing data obtained during procedures, contributing to accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.
- Patient Education: Communicate with patients about procedures, addressing any concerns and providing information to alleviate anxiety.
- Adhere to Safety Protocols: Follow infection control protocols and radiation safety measures to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
