Position summary

Elektrofi is looking for a SPRING 2023 FORMULATION DEVELOPMENT CO-OP to support the development of its biologically active microparticle formulation platform. This individual will join an early-stage, multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers to contribute to a variety of scientific activities in a highly collaborative environment.

Key qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a BS/MS program in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biology, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Bioengineering, or a related field;
• Ability to think critically and demonstrated problem-solving skills;
• Desire to learn new concepts and techniques in protein formulation development;
• Ability to work in a fast-paced research environment;
• General understanding of protein biochemistry and biophysical analytical techniques is desirable;
• Hands on laboratory experience with protein formulations and stability characterization is a plus, but not required; and
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency in standard office software (MS Office)
• Working knowledge of basic methods of data analysis
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to thoroughly document experimental work

Ideal candidates may also have specific experience with one or more of the following: formulation, microparticles, suspensions, liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry, SEM, protein biochemistry/engineering, and drug delivery.

Responsibilities

• Prepare formulations and characterization samples to support formulation development
• Design and execute basic experiments with clear and thorough documentation
• Work efficiently to execute experiments supporting external biopharma collaborations
