Position summary 

Elektrofi is looking for a Formulation Sciences Co-op to support the development of its biologically active microparticle formulation platform. >span class="NormalTextRun SCXW233920511 BCX8"> will join an early-stage, multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers to contribute to a variety of scientific activities in a highly collaborative environment.  

Key qualifications 

• BS in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Bioengineering, or a related field; 

• 1+ years of lab experience;  

• Ability to think critically and demonstrated problem-solving skills; 

• Desire to learn new concepts and techniques in protein formulation development; 

• Ability to work in a fast-paced research environment; 

• General understanding of protein biochemistry and biophysical analytical techniques is desirable; 

• Hands on laboratory experience with protein formulations and stability characterization is a plus, but not required; and  

• span class="NormalTextRun SCXW233920511 BCX8">written and oral communication skills.

Additional relevant skills and attributes include: 

• Proficiency in standard office software (MS Office) 

• Working knowledge of basic methods of data analysis 

• span class="NormalTextRun SCXW233920511 BCX8"> attention to detail and the ability to thoroughly document experimental work

Ideal candidates may also have specific experience with one or more of the following: formulation, microparticles, suspensions, immunoassays, mammalian cell culture, liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry, SEM, protein biochemistry/engineering, drug delivery, and animal work. 

Responsibilities 

• prepare formulations and characterization samples to support formulation development 

• design and execute basic experiments with clear and thorough documentation 

• work efficiently to execute experiments supporting external biopharma collaborations
