Elementary Music Teacher (Part-Time with Growth Opportunity)
Encore Music & Performing Arts is seeking an exceptional music educator to join our growing team and help lead music education programs at our partner elementary schools beginning in August 2026.
This position is ideal for a passionate educator who loves teaching children, thrives in a collaborative environment, and wants to play a meaningful role in building high-quality school music programs. We are looking for someone who views teaching as a profession—not simply a side gig—and who is excited about making a lasting impact on students and families.
About the Role
You will teach engaging elementary music classes during the school day (1st/2nd and/or 3rd-5th grade) culminating in an organized and engaging performance. The lesson plans and performances have already been created and you will have a team for support.
Depending on experience and availability, responsibilities may include:
Teaching elementary general music classes (1st/2nd and/or 3rd-5th grade)Overseeing teachers in our beginning band, choir, and orchestra programs, including schedule and classroom management.
Communicating with partner schools and families
Directing and Assisting with concerts, performances, and special events
Helping coordinate schedules, enrollment, and program logistics
Collaborating with our team to continually improve the student experience
This position begins with part-time instructional hours and has the potential to expand into a larger teaching and administrative role for the right candidate.
Compensation & Benefits
Starting Position
$32.50/hour teaching rate
Opportunity for compensation review after 90 days

Schedule
Monday–Friday availability required
Teaching hours typically occur between 8:00 AM–3:00 PM
Planning, training, and onboarding begin prior to the August 2026 school year
In-person instruction at local elementary school campuses
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in Music Education, Music Performance, or a related field
Strong musicianship and instructional skills
Excellent classroom management abilities
Professional communication and relationship-building skills
Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
Ability to work effectively with both children and adults
Preferred Qualifications
Elementary classroom music teaching experience
Experience directing band, choir, orchestra, or group music classes
Multi-instrument teaching abilities
Experience working within school settings
Curriculum development or program coordination experience
