Sylvan Learning Center is looking for engaging and dedicated teachers to help inspire students. We are currently looking for teachers who are able to teach reading and writing at a k-6th grade level.

Sylvan creates individualized learning plans for students of all abilities based on their unique needs. Working with groups of only 2-3 students, you will be responsible for leading instruction and motivating students to be successful. There are no lesson plans to create, no homework to grade and no parent-conferencing. At Sylvan we want you to focus on what you do best- Teaching.

What you should know:

You will use pre-planned lessons. They are straightforward, easy to manage, and fun to teach.

Teach students in a small group setting. There will be no more than 3 students per teacher.

Most teachers choose to work 2-3 days/week

We are open for instruction on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 4-7pm and on Saturday mornings from 9am-1pm. We are currently looking primarily for weekday instructors with Thursday availability.

This is an in person position on site in Mineola

Job Requirements:

Teaching certification is required

You must enjoy teaching, working, and inspiring students.

Being punctual is extremely important. You must be local and have reliable transportation.
