    Position Purpose

    The Elementary Principal serves to advance the mission of Hill Country Christian School by ensuring every aspect of the Elementary program reflects our high standards of student discipleship and excellent academics.

    Accountability : Reports to Head of School

    FlSA status : Full-time, Exempt

    Qualifications & Skills

    • Must be a Christ-follower who upholds, in word and deed, the Hill Country Christian School of Austin’s Core Values and Statement of Faith
    • Must faithfully attend a church whose fundamental beliefs are in agreement with the Statement of Faith of the school
    • Master’s degree in educational leadership, administration or related field
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant professional experience in a Christian school with 1-3 years of experience in an academic leadership position
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills and able to foster and maintain positive relationships with co-workers
    • Exceptional organizational, administrative and supervisory skills
    • Ability to exercise discretion in

    • Supervises the Assistant Principal, Teaching Faculty, Events Coordinator, and Administrative Assistant
    • Serves on the Executive and Academic Teams to support implementation of programs and initiatives aligned with school mission and values
    • Represent the school at events and admissions activities

    Providing effective and intentional faculty support and oversight by:

    • Ensuring PK–5 academics are aligned with classical Christian education
    • Selecting and evaluating curriculum and instructional resources
    • Recruiting, training, mentoring, evaluating, and retaining faculty and staff
    • Leading faculty meetings and professional development
    • Conducting observations and evaluations; providing recommendations for contract decisions
    • Collaborating with Middle School leadership to support student transitions
    • Overseeing all areas of Elementary administration & operations by ensuring safe, orderly, and nurturing learning environments
    • Overseeing student discipline using restorative, discipleship-focused practices
    • Collaborating with ARCC to support students requiring accommodations
    • Communicating effectively with parents, following Matthew 18 principles
    • Managing schedules, staffing, budgets, inventory, and accreditation efforts
    • Ensuring compliance with safety, emergency, HR, and credentialing requirements
    • Supporting admissions, marketing, and community outreach initiatives
    • Notifying appropriate leadership and agencies regarding student safety concerns
    • Performing other duties as assigned by the Head of School

    Physical Requirements

    • Regular movement throughout campus
    • Occasional lifting of 5 to 20 pounds.
    • Frequently move about inside campus buildings and outside on the grounds
    • Prolonged sitting and computer use
    • Frequent in-person, phone, and email communication
    • Exposure to a variety of childhood and adult diseases and illnesses.
    • Occasional exposure to a variety of weather conditions for recess.
