Are you the kind of person who loves a good question? Do you find yourself naturally breaking down complex ideas, sparking curiosity, and refusing to let someone give up when something gets hard? You might be exactly who we are looking for, even if you have never stood in front of a classroom.

At Prelude Prep, we know that great teachers are not always found. Sometimes they are discovered. We are looking for people who have the heart, the drive, and the natural instinct for this work, and we will invest in the rest.

    Who You Are

You do not need a long resume to catch our attention. You might be a recent graduate who has always known teaching was your calling. You might be someone switching careers because you feel pulled toward something more meaningful. Whatever your path, you are humble, coachable, and genuinely excited to grow. You take feedback and run with it. You ask questions. You want to be coached.

If that sounds like you, keep reading.

    Why Prelude Prep

We believe every minute matters because children only get one chance at 3rd grade, 4th grade, and 5th grade. These are the years when students start to decide whether they are smart, whether school is for them, and whether they belong. We need teachers who understand the weight of that and show up for it every day.

We are not looking for perfect. We are looking for passionate, coachable, and committed.

    • Meaningful relationships with students and families
    • Opportunities to grow into leadership roles as you develop

    What You Will Do

As an Elementary Teacher, you will build the kind of classroom where students feel challenged, capable, and excited to think. You will teach reading, writing, and math at a level that pushes students to go deeper, work harder, and believe in what they can do. You will build relationships with families, collaborate with your team, and grow week over week into the teacher you are meant to be.

    • Deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons that push every student to think critically and reach higher
    • Create a structured classroom environment where students feel capable and motivated
    • Use data to understand your students and adjust your teaching accordingly
    • Partner with families and colleagues to support every child
    • Show up to coaching, planning, and professional development ready to grow
    • Contribute to a school culture that is rigorous, joyful, and built on belief in kids

    What We Are Looking For

    • A genuine love for this age group and an unshakeable belief that all students can succeed
    • The ability to make hard content click without dumbing it down
    • Humility and coachability, you want feedback and you act on it
    • The kind of presence that earns respect from kids who are starting to test boundaries
    • Grit and consistency, because great teaching is built one day at a time
    • Strong communication and the ability to connect with families and teammates
    • Adaptability and a growth mindset

    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university

    Preferred:

    • Any experience working with children in any setting counts. Tutoring, coaching, mentoring, after school programs, childcare. Tell us about it.

Have a moment you are proud of? A time you helped someone work through something hard or finally understand something they thought was beyond them? We want to hear that story.
