** Role Expectations**
The Elementary Teaching Fellow role provides a unique opportunity for talented individuals with no formal teacher certification to support the mission critical work of our school. Teaching Fellows will teach a combination of 1st and 4th grade classes throughout the day so the lead teacher can observe and coach other teachers. They will be part of a hardworking team to help grow Charleston’s newest open enrollment public charter school serving all scholars. Teaching Fellows will support Lead Teachers by co-planning, leading phonics, writing, science, and social studies classes, behavior management, tutoring, grading, data analysis, and administrative support. Teaching Fellows assist Lead Teachers to lead joyful classrooms that are academically rigorous, intensely focused on literacy skill development for all scholars, and intentional about daily scholar social and emotional growth. He or she will report to a Lead Teacher and will receive coaching from Lead Teachers and members of the academic leadership team.
