    CALLING ALL HEALTHCARE INTERFACE EXPERTS / EHR IMPLEMENTATION AND MIGRATION

    Note - this is a Washington DC based on-site position that currently is in a hybrid work footing (2 days a week) but is actively planning to return to the office as COVID conditions dictate.

     

    Support the Office of Electronic Health Records Modernization (OEHRM) critical integration between Cerner, VA and non-VA systems in the area of Interfaces including Health Information Exchange (HIE).

    Candidate will lead a Cerner integration project from a project manager standpoint by being a trusted advisor to the client and will leverage knowledge and experience in project management, enterprise architecture, risk identification, executive reporting, organization skills and agile framework. Ensure efficient analyst coordination and collaboration through meeting set up and management and knowledge management best practices.  Support development and coordination with Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) at the project, OEHRM and OIT program integration levels.

    An ideal candidate will have experience and comfort implementing interfaces in complex organizations and/or federal agencies.

    This position requires risk management, budget support, meeting facilitation, and resource coordination. It interfaces with business, system owners, development teams, agencies, and joint efforts. A successful candidate will be able to manage project actions (e.g., Schedule and Risk), support Microsoft (MS) SharePoint and other Knowledge Management tools, and provide executive-level project status reporting, including MS PowerPoint and dashboarding. In other words assisting the lead Project Managers in the management of multiple projects, coordinating efforts across organization pillars and work efforts.

    ​RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Lead project teams and initiatives related to EHR systems, implementations / go-live / cut-overs
    • Experience managing Information Technology and enterprise architecture projects
    • Well versed in life cycle and project management methodologies
    • Experience in tracking costs, schedule and performance progress
    • Must be able to identify and mitigate risks
    • Strong technical and architecture/design experience with middleware platforms
    • Support any major Incident or other response efforts and support the identification of root causes, courses of actions, and potential solutions
    • Support activities related to test environments, testing, certification, and deployment
    • Work with technical leads and systems engineers as SME
    • Provide guidance to government executives and technical teams on issues, best practices, and optimal methods
    • Validate project deliverables

    EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    • Minimum of 10 years of experience. An additional 8 years of experience may be substituted for degree requirements
    • Experience managing Information Technology and enterprise architecture projects
    • Well versed in life cycle and project management methodologies
    • Experience in tracking costs, schedule and performance progress
    • Must be able to identify and mitigate risks
    • Strong technical and architecture/design experience with middleware platforms
    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business, or related scientific/technical discipline

    EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

    • Experience working within the federal government
    • Experience working within Healthcare field (EHR, EMR)
    • Experience with the Department of Veteran's Affairs, Department of Defense (DoD)
    • Experience with Vista EHR, Cerner Millennium, or DOD EHR - DHMSM - MHS Genesis
    • Experience performing Risk Management
    • Project Management with special consideration to Health Integration projects preferred
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) or other certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI)
    • ScrumMaster (CSM), Scrum Coach, and/or prior assistance with agile transformations
    • Experience with data management, data quality, data security, and data migration projects

     

    ADDITIONAL SKILLS PREFERRED:

    • Experience working within Healthcare field
    • Experience working in a hospital setting
    • Experience working as a Nurse
