    Job Description

    Our customer, an AmLaw 100 Firm, is looking for a Trial and Technical Specialist to work on site in their Seattle or Phoenix locations to assist their Trial & Technical Services Manager with monitoring the firm wide trial docket to identify upcoming 2021 trial support needs.

    The Trial and Technical Specialist will provide consultation to legal teams and clients regarding trial support alternatives, including technology planning, budgets, accommodations and logistics, as necessary.

    ***CANDIDATES MUST RESIDE IN SEATTLE OR PHOENIX. TRAVEL IS REQUIRED FOR THIS ROLE. OVERTIME HOURS OR HOURS BEYOND NORMAL BUSINESS HOURS MAY BE REQUIRED DURING PERIODS OF HIGH WORKLOAD.

    THIS COULD BE A FANTASTIC OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU, IF YOU:

    • Have familiarity with litigation support databases, or demonstrated ability to develop database skills.
    • Are capable of interfacing with legal teams to organize evidence for presentations at trial, as necessary.

    SPECIFICALLY, YOU WILL:

    • Evaluate war room technology needs and coordinate rental of technology equipment and copiers and oversee the design and setup as necessary.
    • Conduct site surveys for war room and courtroom to evaluate layout, electrical power requirements and equipment placement based on logistical requirements.
    • Evaluate courtroom technology needs, setup of courtroom, including operation of trial technology software in the courtroom (hot seat) as necessary.
    • Identify and coordinate vendor assistance as necessary including trial consultants, graphic artists, and local support vendors.
    • Provide on-site support for technical, logistic and general issue resolution during trial.
    • Support mock trials engagements including: evaluation, setup and operation of mock trial equipment throughout the engagement and provide/edit copies of the recordings of the mock trial.
    • Prepare exhibits and create deposition video clips as needed for presentation at trials and mock engagements.
    • Provide consultation to legal teams and clients regarding remote depositions including: scheduling, technology needs, and equipment rental.
    • Maintain inventory of trial equipment, coordinate shipping and receiving to remote trial sites and ensure equipment is kept in working condition.
    • Assist legal teams using Trial Director, CaseMap and Case Notebook software.
    • Research, evaluate, test, recommend, and configure new hardware and software technologies based on the requirements of trial preparation and presentation.
    • Strive to improve the firm's trial support services and presentation technology.
    • When not supporting trials, provides assistance to the ESS Analyst team using tools such as, but not limited to, Relativity and eCapture.

    EXPERIENCE:

    • Minimum of 3 years of prior experience setting up remote trials is required.

    TECHNICAL SKILLS:

    • Relativity, DISCO, Concordance, LAW, Case Notebook, CaseMap, Trial Director, OnCue and eCapture.
    • Trial Director and Relativity required, Sanction or OnCue experience will be considered.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's degree and e-discovery or software certifications preferred.
