We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer for our client, a video on demand, streaming subsidiary of a global entertainment brand.

The ideal candidate has strong Python experience and a streaming and/or Direct to Consumer background. They will serve as the senior engineer with responsibilities to architect, develop and deliver the best solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop backend services and APIs (payments, identity, streaming services, eCommerce, etc.) that are integrated into our consumer applications
• Work closely with product managers, and other backend and frontend engineers.
• Maintain development team competitiveness in service development field by staying current on techniques, tools, and ecosystem.
• Review existing backend services codebases and improve or make recommendations for improving them.
• Stay current on the latest infrastructure and service technologies and frameworks.
• Work with other backend engineering team members ensuring your work adheres to industry standards and internally defined best practices.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of building backend services and APIs
• Knowledge and familiarity with designing and developing backend services using modern Frameworks and AWS components
• Knowledge and familiarity with using CI/CD
  
• Knowledge and familiarity with writing unit and integration tests
• Knowledge of building RESTful APIs using Json
• Familiarity and working experience with agile development methodologies
• Familiarity with Git branching and source code control
• Excellent communication skills and being able to work independently or in a full team
• Demonstrated ability to document code as needed
