    Our client, an investment firm, is looking for a Data Warehouse Engineer to join their team! The role is a hands-on data warehouse engineer who will be responsible for the design and development of a cloud-based data warehouse solution for the firm. The candidate should have versatile experience in data architecture, data modeling, database design and extensive working knowledge using Azure cloud services.

    Responsibilities:

    • Build a conceptual, logical, and physical data model for an enterprise data warehouse solution using data analysis results from multiple data sources
    • Responsible for the design, ingestion, preparation, testing, deployment, troubleshooting and production support for a cloud-based data warehouse
    • Write stored procedures to perform business logic and data transformations
    • Design and create tables, views, partitions, functions, indexes and other database objects
    • Create source-to-target data mapping specifications for ETL development
    • Implement data pipelines to ingest, prepare and move data to a data warehouse using cloud technologies
    • Develop and perform integration, system performance and regression testing
    • Collect, organize, and analyze data with the ability to summarize findings and provide recommendations
    • Translate business requirements into written technical specifications for all aspects related to the buildout of an enterprise data warehouse and provide recommendations, insights, and best practices for implementing cloud technology tools
    • Suggest new initiatives and process improvements based on data observations

    Qualifications:

    • 5+ years of relevant work experience in a similar role implementing a cloud data warehouse effort
    • Data architecture, data modeling, and database design experience across disparate data sources
    • Knowledge of data structures, system interaction patterns and interfaces
    • Experience with Snowflake and star schema concepts preferred
    • Advanced SQL programming experience
    • Experience with Azure tools (Data Factory, SQL database, Data Catalog, Monitor)
    • Azure certification(s) would be preferred
    • Experience with database design tools (MS SQL Maestro, SSMS)
    • Knowledge of Microsoft BI technologies (SSRS, SSIS, SSAS and Power BI)
    • Awareness of cloud security best practices
    • Understanding of relational databases
    • Experience with usage of ETL/ELT and reporting tools used in data warehouse environment
    • Experience in the Investment Management industry would be preferred
    • Knowledge of Investment Operations such as portfolio accounting, corporate actions and trade settlements is a plus
    • Proficient with any of these systems: Geneva, APL, Charles River (CRIMS), FactSet, Power BI, Salesforce, IHS Markit and IDC
    • Understanding of master data management concepts
    • Experience documenting functional requirements document and service level agreements (SLAs)
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Self-motivated
    • Four-year degree from an accredited college or university or commensurable working experience
