    Our client is looking for a Database Analyst to join their team in San Francisco.

    This role is hands-on and demands application architecture and development experience, the ability to analyze complex business and technology problems and work closely with other technologists to ensure the best system outcomes.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Support the client's employees by creating, extending and maintaining front office in-house, as well as customized vendor applications, for trading, investing and analytics
    • Develop front office solutions for trade order management, Portfolio and CLO compliance, allocation waterfalls, and debt/borrowing base compliance
    • Enhance the cash management component for sizing/trading CLOs and other credit strategies to optimize the use of cash; Improve cash forecasting ability
    • Develop reports and analytic tools to assist the desk in understanding holdings, cash, NAV positions
    • Use market data and internal data marts to create innovative tools to screen assets for portfolio sizing and compliance
    • Integrate, support and extend third party systems (particularly Black Mountain Systems Everest) to complement our in house developed solutions
    • Cover a range of functional disciplines including portfolio management trading, investment monitoring MIS tools, fund accounting, cash position reconciliation, pre/post trade compliance
    • Drive projects successfully to completion, on-time, with a focus on quality and proper testing
    • Analyze complex business problems and translate them into technical solutions
    • Manage stakeholder relationships to prioritize business priorities and deliverables
    • Be a trusted advisor to the Front Office, Operations and Finance teams and make recommendations on how technology can improve processes and provide better information for decision making
    • Help to develop the next generation strategic credit platform and data models
    • Develop, support and enforce best practices and technology standards within the team
    • Leverage data to build tools to help with Front office analysis and automation of operational processes

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or related technical field
    • 3-5 years of experience in Financial Services Technology, preferably on the buy side
    • Significant experience in relational databases and SQL – needs to be comfortable writing and troubleshooting complex SQL code
    • 3+ years of experience in application development or programming
    • Experience with order management systems, such as BMS/Everest, EZE, Charles River, or similar
    • Knowledge of credit instruments and the credit market
    • Experience supporting mission critical systems such as trading, pricing, risk, order management, etc
    • DevOps or automated testing experience a plus
    • Experience working with front office investment professionals
    • Credit Accounting experience a plus
